Francois & Ingrid Coetzee — Praying Into Sri Lanka

We are Francois and Ingrid Coetzee, medical professionals and marketplace leaders at Redemption point church in Pinetown, South Africa. We have a passion to see Christ-reflecting communities of believers established among unreached people groups. Over the last 2 years we have had the privilege of travelling to the less frequented destinations of Kyrgyzstan, Turkey and Albania. We have experienced firsthand that to grow a heart for a people group and to gain an understanding of the challenges and opportunities encountered there, nothing beats physically having our feet on the soil of that nation (as opposed to praying from a distance for an arbitrary country on a map).

And so, we invite you to join us on an adventure to Sri Lanka. We aim to intentionally immerse ourselves into the unique history of this nation, to meet its people, eat its food, hear its languages, visit its places of worship, engage with the local church and all the while listen for the heart of our Father, asking Him to show us His prophetic purposes for Sri Lanka and her people.

Jesus passionately proclaimed that his house will be called a house of prayer for all nations (Matt 11:17). Our hope and expectation are that this reconnaissance prayer trip to Sri Lanka will serve to generally grow the missional prayer muscle of our collective churches as well as to catalyze greater prayer fervour for Sri Lanka specifically, in preparation for the Genesis Collective time in Sri Lanka in May 2026.

To this end, please consider taking the following steps:

  1. Sign up personally or sponsor someone to join us as we pray in Sri Lanka from 8-16 August 2025.

  2. Foster apostolic prayer partnerships by involving your small group and church in this journey. People may be unable to physically travel to Sri Lanka due to health, financial or time restraints, but they may be able to join you in researching the country, exploring the current political and spiritual climate there, waiting on God for a prophetic word for the local church etc. Prayer can be hard work, but it is also an adventure and an immense privilege as we learn to partner with our Missional God to achieve his missional purposes.

  3. Initiate and encourage ongoing and informed apostolic prayer for Sri Lanka on return to your home base.

We look forward to seeing you in Sri Lanka!
